One of the greatest joys in my work is when a past wedding couple returns and asks me to capture another important milestone in their lives. It's always such an honor when families come back and trust me with their memories. I hold these couples close to my heart. Each session becomes even more special as we get to know each other better and build that comfort and trust over time.
Hannah and Kyle chose Joshua Springs Park & Preserve in the Texas Hill Country for their maternity session, and it was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful new chapter. Hannah brought two outfits: a lovely dress and a more casual look featuring a classic white tank top and jeans. I always suggest bringing two to three outfits for maternity sessions because it adds variety to your final gallery.
We began the session by the pond, then moved to a shaded area under some stunning oak trees. I typically start each session with a mix of more formal poses and some gentle movement to help everyone ease into being in front of the camera. I completely understand that posing in public can feel a bit awkward at first, but with a little direction and a relaxed pace, it quickly becomes fun and natural!
After exploring a few spots around the pond, Hannah changed into her casual outfit for the second half of the shoot. The evening light at Joshua Springs is absolutely magical & sunset here never disappoints. Some of my favorite images from the session were captured during this golden hour glow!
